What We Offer

Three Engagements, Each Suited to a Different Question

We do not offer a menu of services and invite you to combine them. Instead, we have designed three distinct engagements, each suited to a particular kind of marketing situation.

Our Methodology

How We Approach Every Engagement

Each engagement begins the same way: with reading. Before the first conversation, we ask clients to share whatever background is available — previous positioning documents, recent campaign briefs, key pieces of customer feedback, whatever feels most relevant. We read all of it before we speak.

What follows is a process of careful listening: in formal workshops for the longer engagements, in a single structured session for the shorter one. We ask more questions than we make statements, and we take written notes throughout.

The analytical work happens between sessions — when we have time to consider what we heard, identify the patterns that seem most significant, and begin to form a view. We then write, revise, and write again before delivering the final document.

Read

We review all available materials before any conversation begins.

Listen

We hold structured sessions designed around the questions that matter most.

Write

Every engagement concludes with a considered written document, drafted and revised with care.

Engagement 01

Brand Positioning Review

A careful look at how your business currently presents itself in the market, and whether that presentation sits comfortably with who you actually are and who you are hoping to reach. We read your existing materials, speak with a small number of current and former clients, and hold reflective sessions with your leadership team. The outcome is a written positioning document that articulates your proposition in plain language, along with suggestions for how it might be expressed across touchpoints.

What Is Included

  • Review of all existing brand and marketing materials
  • Interviews with up to four current or former clients
  • Two reflective sessions with the leadership team
  • Written positioning document (approximately 2,500 words)
  • Suggestions for expression across key touchpoints
  • One follow-up conversation after document delivery

Process Steps

  1. 01Introductory call and materials request
  2. 02Document and materials review (one to two weeks)
  3. 03Client interviews (scheduled over two weeks)
  4. 04Leadership sessions (two sessions, one week apart)
  5. 05Drafting and internal review (one to two weeks)
  6. 06Document delivery and follow-up conversation

Suited to businesses considering a next chapter — a rebrand, a new audience, or a consolidation of what the business stands for. Less suitable for those still in the process of defining their core offer.

Brand Positioning Review

What You Walk Away With

A written positioning document that articulates, in plain language, what your business stands for, who it is best suited to serve, and how that proposition can be expressed across the touchpoints that matter most to your audience.

Many clients find that having this document in hand changes how they describe themselves in conversations with clients, staff, and suppliers — not because the thinking is entirely new, but because it has been written down clearly for the first time.

Engagement 02

Marketing Approach Review

A considered examination of how your marketing efforts are currently organised, what seems to be working, and where effort may be quietly going astray. We review your channel mix, recent campaigns, and the handful of measurements you rely on most. Rather than prescribing sweeping change, we offer a written report highlighting a few focused areas of possible improvement and a conversation about which feel right to pursue.

What Is Included

  • Review of channel mix, recent campaigns, and key metrics
  • Two structured workshops with your marketing team
  • Analysis of three to five priority focus areas
  • Written report with findings and suggestions
  • Conversation to discuss which areas to prioritise

Process Steps

  1. 01Introductory call and data/materials request
  2. 02Review of provided materials (one week)
  3. 03Workshop one — understanding current approach
  4. 04Analysis and preliminary findings (one to two weeks)
  5. 05Workshop two — testing observations with your team
  6. 06Written report and prioritisation conversation

Tends to suit marketing leaders who sense something isn't quite working but haven't found the words to describe where — or who want an external read before making significant changes.

Marketing Approach Review

What You Walk Away With

A written report that names the three to five areas of your marketing effort most worth attention, explains our reasoning, and offers specific questions to consider as you decide what to do next.

We deliberately limit our recommendations to a small number. In our experience, a long list of suggestions tends to produce either paralysis or selective reading. A shorter list, clearly argued, is more likely to lead to action.

Engagement 03

Campaign Thinking Session

A compact engagement for marketing leaders developing a specific campaign or initiative who would appreciate a thoughtful external perspective. Before the session we read the brief, related materials, and any background documents you wish to share. The session itself, lasting two and a half hours, is structured around the questions that matter most, and is followed by a short written note capturing what emerged.

What Is Included

  • Pre-session review of brief and background materials
  • Structured 2.5-hour thinking session
  • Short written note capturing key observations
  • Follow-up email for any clarifying questions

Process Steps

  1. 01Brief exchange and materials sharing
  2. 02Pre-session review (two to three days)
  3. 03Session itself (2.5 hours, in person or via call)
  4. 04Written note delivered within two business days

Suited to those in the middle of planning rather than at the very start — when the brief exists but the thinking around it still has open questions.

Campaign Thinking Session

What You Walk Away With

A short written note — typically two to three pages — capturing the key observations from the session, the questions that felt most generative, and any specific suggestions that emerged from the conversation.

The note is designed to be a useful reference as you continue developing the campaign — not a report, but a record of a good thinking conversation.
